PROVERBS 16:9
“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
You can make plans and create purposes, …unless it is approved of God, it will not see the light of the day. It will not be successful.
That’s what it is telling us here: “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps”
“For the preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
For all the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.” [Ref.: Proverbs 16:1 - 2]
WISDOM QUOTES !
“So, You may devise your way, but it’s God who has the final decision whether that your way will succeed or not.”
That’s why you need to commit your ways unto the LORD. Commit your works unto the LORD, so that your thought will be established. Because if God does not approve of it, it will not be established!
“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
Proverbs 19 verse 21 says –
“There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.”
CATCH THIS!
There may be many devices, many plans, many purposes you want to achieve, … it’s only the counsel of the LORD that will stand.
LISTEN:
So, let the LORD be in that which you are planning. Don’t just get up and begin to devise what you want to do without God.
As the Scripture asks in Proverbs 20 verse 24:
“Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?”
You need the LORD in all situations, because your going is of the LORD. God is the One who created the Heaven and the earth, and the seas. He is the One who created you and put you on this earth. He formed you in your mother’s belly and put you on this earth. So, He knows the way you are going.
So, …
allow the LORD to direct you, to teach you the way to go to profit.
Don’t keep devising and making bogus plans that may not see the light of the day.
Allow the LORD to direct you, … to order your steps.
The Scriptures says in Proverbs 21 verse 1:
“The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”
KNOW IT:
That even the king that is in authority, the kings that give decrees, their hearts are in the hand of the LORD.
So : = >
Submit your ways unto the LORD!
Submit your heart unto the LORD!!
Submit your will unto the LORD!!
Your plans, your purposes, … let them be approved of the LORD.
Because you may devise all those plans, all those purposes, all those ways you want to do things, … if it is not approved of God, it will not work.
For “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
Allow the LORD to direct your steps!
Don’t resist Him!! For … “There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.” [Ref. : Proverb 21:30] You must know this!!!
Isaiah 46 verse 9 says this:
“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,”
Verse 10: “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:”
So, know it! – that a man’s heart may devise his way: but it’s the LORD directeth his steps.
So don’t do things without the approval of God. And don’t think you can do things and succeed without God directing your steps, without God approving of it.
That’s why, ‘all things will work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.’ [Ref. : Romans 8:28]
See what Joseph told his brethren in Genesis 45 verse 5. He said:
“Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.”
To them, they have devised in their heart to sell Joseph into slavery, but God allowed it because God purposed to send Joseph into Egypt in order to preserve the people of Israel. That’s what Joseph was telling them here.
He said: “Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.”
For “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
“For the steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” [Ref. : Psalms 37:23]
WISDOM QUOTE:
When the LORD delights in your way, He will order your steps. And when you delight in the way of the LORD, the LORD will approve that which you have thought out in your heart.
Because you are delighting in the LORD and your desire is a pure desire – ‘to do that which God has approved’; God knows how to perfect that which concerns you.

GET THIS:
May the LORD continuously direct your steps!
May you not miss your way in serving the LORD in spirit and in truth!!
May you be purposeful in doing that which pleases the LORD!!!
And once you are purposeful and you are yielded, God knows how to direct your steps.
It says: “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
That’s how God can lead even the blind and show him the way to go to profit; … as the Scripture tells us in Isaiah 42 verse 16. It says:
“And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.”
So, …
Purpose to yield yourself and submit yourself to the will of God, so that God will continue to direct your steps. He will show you the way to go to profit.
The Glorious Light of the Gospel will shine on your way. And He will lead you in the paths that you have not known. He will make darkness light for you, and crooked ways straight.
God will not forsake you as you purpose to submit your will to His will!
That’s what the Scripture is encouraging us here, that: “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
So, let the LORD direct your steps! … for ‘the steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD’.
And the Scripture tells us in Jeremiah 10 verse 23:
“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”
WISDOM QUOTE:
It’s not in you to direct your steps!
SO, …
Walk by faith; not by sight!
Walk in obedience to the word of God, so that the LORD will continue to direct your steps!
Yield yourself completely!!
Refuse that anything will take you away from remaining in the presence of God!! For … ‘Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?’ [Ref. : Lamentation 3:37].
So, remain in His presence where there is fullness of joy, at His right hand, pleasures forever more!!!
How can you remain in His presence?
It is by remaining in His truth, His Way, and the Life that Christ showed us!
For: “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
May the LORD continue to direct your steps!
May He continue to teach you the way to go to profit!!
And as you yield yourself for the LORD’S direction, you will remain blessed in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
