THE REPROOF OF LIFE IS A HIGHWAY TO DISTINCTION!

PROVERBS 15:31

“The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

THE REPROOF OF LIFE IS A HIGHWAY TO DISTINCTION!

Anybody who is open to correction is walking in wisdom; the wisdom that is profitable to direct. The ear that does not despise reproof and instruction in righteousness, abides among the wise.

  • Learn to open your ears to receive the instruction that will make you to walk uprightly.

  • Don't reject such instruction!

  • Don't reject such corrections.

  • Don't reject such things that will make you to live in the fear of the LORD.

  • Hear instruction and receive wisdom.

For “The ear that heareth reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

Proverbs chapter 1 verse 23 says–

“Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.”

When you are open to receive correction, when you are open to receive reproof, the LORD says–

  • He will pour out His Spirit;

  • He will give you direction;

  • He will give you wisdom that is profitable to direct;

  • He will reveal things to you the more;

  • He will bring you to the place of revelation. Like Paul said: “ I went up by revelation.”

  • He will raise you up beyond your human understanding.

So, don't despise, don't reject reproof of life for it is a highway to distinction … when you accept it and purpose to obey what it is teaching you to do.

So, “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

That you are receiving reproof and you are open to take it in, and to take the correction: it shows you are wise. It shows you have life: life abundantly and life eternally.

So, don't reject such reproofs of life!

Proverbs chapter 9 verse 8

Proverbs chapter 9 verse 8 says–

“Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.”

So, the ear that heareth the reproof of life shows that such an ear is an ear of a wise man; because he will love him that is rebuking him, that is correcting him, that is bringing him to the place of life.

It continues in Proverbs chapter 9 verse 9, it says–

“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”

So, be open to increase in learning. And learning is not just enough without applying it. The knowledge you receive from the rebuke, from the correction: put it to use!

That is what it means that “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

Remain in the wisdom of God - … Christ the Wisdom of God; the Power of God!

  • Such an ear is yielded to walk in obedience to the word of God.

  • Such an ear abides with the wise.

    • He remains with the wise!

    • He walks with the wise!!

    • And he learns from the wise!!!

As the Scripture says in Proverbs Chapter 13 verse 20 –

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

So, “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

I encourage you –

  • abide and remain with the wise!

  • Learn to walk with the wise!!

So, I encourage you, as the Scripture says in Proverbs chapter 19 verse 20–

“Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.”

Isaiah 55

So, “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

  • They will grow in wisdom; the wisdom that is profitable to direct.

  • They are ready to learn, to receive instruction, to be corrected.

  • And they are ready to grow and to apply what they have heard.

For “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” [Ref: Romans 10:17]. So, they are open to the total counsel of the LORD.

As the Scripture encourages us in Isaiah 55 verse 3, it says –

“Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”

So, the ears that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise: because they are open to incline their ear to hear the truth. And as they hear they receive life, and their souls shall live. They will abide in the covenant of the LORD, because they have purposed to walk in the will of God. For “blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” [Ref: Luke 11:28].

So, “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

  • I encourage you to have the ear that heareth the reproof of life.

  • I encourage you to be open to receive the instruction in righteousness.

For “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” [Ref: 2 Timothy 3:16-17].

For “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

So, learn to hear the reproof of life!

I ENCOURAGE YOU:

Remain abiding in the word of God! Because as you remain hearing the reproof of life, hearing the truth that will set you free, receiving the word of God that will cleanse you from all unrighteousness, (Because it is the word of God that will cleanse you and sanctify you) … So, let your ears be anointed and sanctified through hearing of the word of God.

For you will be clean through the word which you have heard. And as you are cleansed through the word you have heard, I want you to continue to abide in that word. Because as you abide in the word of God, you will continue to bear fruit.

That ear will abide in the wisdom of God

‘Except you abide in the word of God, except you abide in the Vine, you cannot bear fruit. You can do nothing!’

So, “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.”

  • That ear will abide in the wisdom of God.

  • It will abide in the word of God.

  • It will abide in Christ the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.

  • And that ear is an ear that will be blessed eventually.

I ENCOURAGE YOU: …

  • to have the ear that heareth the reproof of life;

  • And remain abiding among the wise.

And as you do that, remain blessed in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
