PROVERBS 15:29.
“The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
Yeah! The LORD is far from those who walk unrighteously.
He is far from those who are not serving the Lord in spirit and in truth. But He hears the prayer of the righteous.
The LORD is certainly far from the wicked, because the wicked hates instruction, he gives his mouth to evil and his tongue frames deceit. There is no thought of God in his mind.
The wicked is he that rejects/has rejected what Jesus did for him on the cross of Calvary. So he is far from God!
He needs Revival! He needs a Renewal of mind! He needs to Return to God and be at peace with Him. Peace with God is only through Jesus Christ!!
2 Chronicles 15:1 - 2 speaks the mind of God :
1 And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:
2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
So Let the wicked forsake his ways and turn, and return to God today!
Isaiah chapter 59 verse 1 says –
“Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:”
Verse 2: “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”
WHY IS THE LORD AFAR?
The LORD is far from the wicked, because the wicked has purposed to do his own thing. There is no God in his thoughts; he keeps God away and afar from all he does!
The Scripture says in 1 Peter chapter 3 verse 12 –
“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.”
So, …
The LORD is far from the wicked that are far from righteousness.
The salvation of the LORD is far from the wicked that refuse to accept and believe what Jesus Christ has done for him on the cross of Calvary.
The LORD is with you, as you are with him.
See what the LORD said to the house of Judah, as He is saying to you today, in Ezekiel chapter 8 from verse 17 –
"Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.”
Verse 18: “Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.”
So, when you are walking in iniquity, when you are doing that which does not please the LORD, when you are walking against the word of the LORD, … the LORD will not hear you when you call. This is the portion of the wicked and the unrighteous that have hardened themselves from obeying the truth.
As the Scripture says in Micah chapter 3 verse 4, it says–
“Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.”
When you do that which does not please the LORD, when you behave yourself ill and purpose to walk against the counsel of the LORD: you will call, the LORD will not hear you.
KNOW IT!
"The wicked that is far from righteousness will go into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into everlasting life." [Ref: Matthew 25:46].
Choose what you desire!
Choose what you purpose to achieve in your life!!
Choose where you will spend eternity!!!
When you refuse to walk in obedience to the word of God, the LORD will be far from you. You will cry, the LORD will not hear you.
The Scripture says in Gospel of John chapter 9 verse 31 –
“Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.”
Make yourself a worshipper of God.
Worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, so that when you cry, the LORD will hear you.
And that is why you need to come to the saving knowledge of the word of God. It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ we are made nigh to God.
As the Scripture tells us in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 11, it says–
“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;”
Verse 12: “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:”
Verse 13: “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”
So, we have been made nigh by what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross of Calvary. For He that knew no sin, became sin for us; that we may become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
So, now that we have been made nigh to Him, we should remain abiding in the truth and doing the will of God.
For “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
So, …
Remain the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, so that God will continue to hear your prayers.
Refuse that anything will take you away from the truth.
Remain walking in the truth.
Remain doing the will of God, so that the LORD will hear you when you call upon Him.
Proverbs 15 verse 8 says –
“The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.”
The LORD delights in the prayer of the righteous.
He has pleasure in the prayer of the righteous.
And He is desirous to fulfill that which the righteous the righteous desires from God.
SO, KNOW IT –
“The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles”.
So, remain the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, so that when you call, the LORD will hear you; the LORD will answer you.
This is the promise to the righteous. You cry; the LORD will hear you, and He will deliver you from all your troubles.
So, it is your responsibility to cry. When you find yourself in difficult situations, don't keep silent! Cry out unto the LORD, for He will hear you.
It continues in that Psalm 34 verse 16 –
“The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.”
So, if you are walking wickedly, if you have rejected what Christ did for you on the cross of Calvary, if you are walking foolishly; you will cry, you will call, the LORD will not hear you. For ‘the face of the LORD is against them that do evil.’
Cease from doing evil!
Cease from doing wickedly!
Cease from hardening yourself in your ways!!
Yield yourself to walk in the Way, the Truth, and the Life that is in Christ Jesus, so that when you call, the LORD will hear you!!!
The Scripture says in that Psalm 34 verse 17 –
“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.”
Not only that the eyes of the LORD are upon you, but the ears of the LORD are open to your prayers. When you call, the LORD will hear you and the LORD will deliver you.
So, purpose …
to walk in the truth!
to abide in the light that is in Christ Jesus.
The Psalmist says in Psalm 66 from verse 18, he says–
“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:”
Verse 19: “But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.”
Verse 20: “Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.”
It is of the mercies of the LORD that we are not consumed.
So, even if you have been walking in iniquity and today, you desire to call on the LORD for mercy: the LORD will hear you.
He will show you mercy.
He will deliver you, once you purpose to accept what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross of Calvary.
As the Scripture tells us in Ephesians chapter 2 from verse 4, it says –
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,”
Verse 5: “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”
Verse 6: “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”
Verse 7: “That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
So, when you cry unto the LORD for salvation, for deliverance, because of the mercies of the LORD, you will not be consumed.
So, “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
God will hear you! When you desire to come out of iniquity and purpose to serve Him in spirit and in truth: He will also hear you!
So, know it – that “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
God also will hear you when you have purposed to turn away from wickedness and come to the saving knowledge of the word of God.
When you have purposed to abide in Him and walk in Him, He will show you mercy.
ARE YOU AFAR FROM OR NEAR TO GOD? KNOW THIS: GOD IS WITH YOU AS YOU ARE WITH HIM !
Psalm 145 verse 18 says–
“The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.”
Verse 19: “He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.”
The LORD is ready to save you! As you call upon Him in truth, …
He is ready to show you favour.
He is ready to deliver you. For the eyes of the LORD wait upon thee!
Psalm 145 from verse 18, it says–
“The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.”
Verse 19: “He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.” Amen.
So, purpose to call upon the LORD in truth! As you call upon Him in truth: …
The LORD will hear you, and He will save you.
He will deliver you from every trouble.
For "this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, when we pray according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." [Ref: 1 John 5:14 - 15].
So, “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
So, …
Remain the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
And call upon the LORD, and He will hear you and deliver you from every trouble.
As you do this, remain blessed in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
